Winter appeal
Support our Winter appeal, the ‘We Care Christmas Celebrations’ campaign and help us make Christmas special for our ward staff and inpatients this year.
Christmas is a time of joy and goodwill, with both Christians and non-Christians taking part in the festivities, making it a truly global holiday that transcends borders, uniting people from various cultures and backgrounds in a shared celebration of hope and happiness.
Christmas, however, can be a difficult time for anyone who needs to be in hospital, particularly for people struggling with their mental health, so this year we are adding an extra touch of wonder and delight to the holiday season by treating our hardworking ward staff members and inpatients to a ‘We Care Christmas Celebration.’
To make it a magical day full of Christmas cheer the Trust Charity is appealing to those who are able to donate to help us deliver a bespoke ‘party-in-a-box’ to every ward which will be packed with festive decorations and treats and goodies to be enjoyed on Christmas Day.
Natalie Page, Occupational Therapist on Ward 1 says:
Celebrating Christmas on the wards is such a special time for everyone, especially for those who can’t be at home or don’t have anyone special to share it with. The decorations transform the ward, making it feel brighter, more festive, and full of warmth. Coming together for a shared celebration lifts spirits, strengthens our sense of community, and spreads some much needed joy throughout the ward.
The festive spirit is all about hope, generosity, coming together and spreading happiness and your donations can help us deliver the warmth and wonder of Christmas this year by Making Life Better Together for the people who need it most.
Your kind and generous donations could buy:
£5 - Festive decorations such as tinsel, baubles and balloons
£10 - Christmas party essentials like party hats, cups, napkins, tablecloths and games
£20 - Fun Christmas craft activities
£50 - Seasonal edible treats via a food and soft drinks voucher
£100 – Buy an entire ‘party-in-a-box’
An entire ‘party-in-a-box’ comes complete with festive decorations, party hats and headbands, tableware, chocolate reindeers, candy canes, Christmas craft activities and games, a festive party music playlist and seasonal edible treats via a food and soft drinks voucher so a ward has everything they need for a Christmas celebration to remember.
