Fundraise for us

From challenging yourself to run a marathon, cycling from London to Brighton or hosting a cake sale – there are lots of way to support us. Sir Captain Tom inspired the nation and became a defining figure in 2020 with his fundraising effort to walk 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday.

Are you feeling inspired and looking for a great cause to get behind? We would be incredibly grateful if you can fundraise for us - your support will assist in the mental health recovery of our local communities, and we’d love to help you raise as much as possible – whatever you are up to!

Let's put the fun back in fundraising!

You could host an Alice in Wonderland tea party and invite your guests to wear funny hats or do a Zumba class in your pyjamas, there’s no limit to how creative you can get. There’s an event for everyone who wants to make life better for people with mental health problems.

London to Brighton cycle ride

london to brighton logoLast year’s London to Brighton Cycle Ride was our first ever Challenge for Charity event and we had 15 amazing fundraisers proudly flying the flag for #TeamSWLSTG. Excitement was in the air as they set off in our official Charity cycling jerseys on 15 September to take on the picturesque 54 miles from city to coast to raise funds for our Charity.

Their incredible feat of fitness and generosity of spirit helped us raise a total of £2881.25, with donations still rolling in! Every pound raised will enable our Charity to make a positive impact on our patients, their carers and families, as well as our amazing staff who look after them.

“Hello team, Just wanted to say a big thank you for organising the London-Brighton! I know there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes and it was great to see you there yesterday (sorry I missed you, Vincent!) Had a cracking time and will definitely be recommending to other colleagues for next year!” – Angus Walker

“Well done all and thank you Sarah for your continued support throughout the process. I am also pleased to say I've had more donations come through today, so I believe I've now hit my target!  The ride was great fun.” – Karim Hamie

“We have all finished!!! - Congratulations everybody.” – Leo Bell

“WELL DONE TEAM! Amazing effort! Also, without Sarah, Emily and Dave’s support, we would have all been up the creek without paddle – well, I certainly would have been! Thank you to the best support team.” – Candice Ingram

“Hey Sarah, Emily and Dave, without the organisation and being there at the start and end the whole thing just wouldn’t have been as good - not to say the promotion you have done for each and every one of us, the thanks are all ours!” - Ian Garlington

I’m thrilled to share that I successfully completed the 10k Vitality London Race in support of a mental health charity—and together, we raised over £1,000! I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, supported, and encouraged me throughout this journey. The support from the South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust Charity has been incredible, making me feel truly part of something special. It's an honour to contribute to raising awareness for mental health. This experience has reinforced the power of community and the importance of supporting mental health. If anyone is considering joining, I highly recommend it – it’s a rewarding experience, and the support you receive is amazing! Rachael Sachdev

My sister Emily works for the Trust, so I’m well aware of some of the amazing work it does for the community. I'd always wanted to do the London to Brighton ride, so when she mentioned that the Trust was offering places, I jumped at the opportunity to sign up! The team were amazing, providing top-notch cycling jerseys, setting up a fundraising page, keeping us informed with regular updates, and even being there at the start to cheer the SWLSTG team on. It genuinely felt like they were with me every step of the way. Tim Runcorn
