It provides outpatient neuropsychiatry services to the population of Southwest London including the SWLSTG MH NHS Trust catchment areas, Surrey and some surrounding areas covered by the Atkinson Morley Regional Neurosciences Centre (AMRNC). The service is also closely allied to the Regional Neurosciences Centre based at the Atkinson Morley Wing (AMW) of St George’s Hospital where it provides inpatient assessment and advice to various neurosciences wards.

The service is for persons from the ages of 18 years old to older adults, who have complex needs and will require specialist assessment and treatment. Treatment offered is evidence-based, patient-centred and collaborative. The treatment options include psychoeducation, self-help strategies, pharmacotherapy, psychological treatments including CBT and signposting to appropriate allied services within the neurosciences centre and local mental health services.

The two elements of the service include:

  1. Outpatient neuropsychiatry service which provide close links to the local Regional Neurosciences Centre.
  2. Consultation-liaison neuropsychiatric service for inpatients admitted to neurological, neurosurgical and neurocritical care beds at St George's hospital neurosciences wards.
