Springfield Village

For too long, large parts of the NHS mental health estate have been isolated from the communities they serve, reflecting outdated, stigma-laden attitudes to mental ill health from years gone by. However, Springfield Hospital in Wandsworth is changing this by being part of a new stigma-breaking community called Springfield Village.

Our new Trinity and Shaftesbury buildings sit in Chapel Square, the heart of Springfield Village. This square is home to a number of shops and a gym - all surrounded by over 1,200 new homes, a third of which are classed as affordable. The Meadowcroft, a purpose-built care home also opened in the village in 2023. 

Alongside this is Springfield Park, a new 32-acre outdoor space. Opened in summer 2025, with a pavilion café, play area, trim trail, amphitheatre, areas for informal sport, ponds and hundreds of new trees, the park is the largest created in London since the 2012 Olympics. With future plans to add public artwork and seating, by 2027 Springfield will be transformed into a vibrant new community with mental health at its heart.
