Adolescent Outreach Team (AOT)

The Adolescent Outreach Team is a multidisciplinary community team, working across South West London, with the aim of helping young people to avoid inpatient mental health care by working more intensively with them in the community during a period of mental health crisis. Once the presentation has stabilised their care is transferred back to their local CAMHS team.

This service is for Young People aged 12-18 years who are experiencing an acute crisis in their mental health and who might be at risk of needing an inpatient admission owing to the severity of their illness or risk.

Child and Adolescent Neuro-Developmental Team (NDT)

Child and Adolescent Neuro-Developmental Team (NDT)

The Neuro-Developmental Team is a specialist child and adolescent assessment service for children and young people. We offer assessments to determine whether a child or young person has a neurodevelopmental presentation, that meets the criteria for neuro-diverse conditions such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Our team is made up of CAMHS professionals from a range of different backgrounds who work together to provide a multi-disciplinary assessment. This includes Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Nurses and Speech and Language Therapists.

Children Emergency Care Service (CECS)

Children Emergency Care Service (CECS)

The CAMHS Emergency Care Service (CECS) is a team of specialist nurses who provide assessment and management plans for young people up to age 18 who come to accident and emergency and children's wards having a mental health crisis.

The CECS also provide urgent seven day follow ups for young people who are registered with a GP in one of the Trust's five boroughs and who have been seen at local and non-local hospitals.

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) Service

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) Service

The CAMHS Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Service (DBT) is a team of therapists who provide an intensive, therapeutic service for young people up to 18 years who are experiencing emotional dysregulation and engaging in unhelpful thinking patterns or behaviours. We work with Young People and their carers to address harmful behaviours and increase skillful behaviours in order to improve their lives.

We work with Young People and their carers for 8-12 months. During this time we will regularly review the care plan with the Young Person and their network in the form of Care Plan Approach (CPA) meetings.

Eating disorders

Eating disorders

We are a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) that specialises in treating children and young people who have an Eating Disorder. We are a community service based at Springfield Hospital and our service hours are Monday Friday, 9am-5pm.

Our service also works closely with the Paediatric ward at St George's Hospital, the Intensive Treatment Program (ITP) at the Maudsley Hospital and the specialist Eating Disorder inpatient unit, Wisteria, at Springfield Hospital.

We are a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) which means we are made up of many different types of healthcare professionals.

Learning Disability Service

Learning Disability Service

CAMHS Learning Disability service is a Tier 3 service providing specialist assessment and treatment for Children and Young People who have moderate to profound Learning Disability and present with mental health needs and/or challenging behaviour.

CAMHS Learning Disability service offers a range of treatments and assessments for children and young people experiencing mental and physical health problems or presenting with behaviour that challenges those around them. Where appropriate, combinations of approaches are used within a multi-disciplinary framework, in line with the young person's needs and goals as agreed with the family through a care planning approach.

National Deaf Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (Deaf CAMHS)

National Deaf Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (Deaf CAMHS)

These services are provided in community locations as well as in our inpatient ward (Corner House) based at Springfield Hospital. The Community Services are part of the Deaf Children, Young People and Family Community Services whose remit is to provide highly specialised mental health care to Deaf Children and Young People (aged 0 to 18 years) and their families, and hearing Children and Young People of Deaf Adults in the community.

We work with specialist professionals and teams (such as those listed below) to provide you with the highest possible quality of care in British Sign Language so that you can achieve the best outcomes from the treatments we offer.

Sutton Neurodevelopmental (ND) Needs One Stop Shop

Sutton Neurodevelopmental (ND) Needs One Stop Shop

This is a new pilot drop-in service for families in Sutton. It offers support and advice for children and young people aged between 5-18 who are experiencing challenges which may be related with a neurodevelopmental presentation (Autism or ADHD).

The types of challenges we can advise on include emotional difficulties, behavioural challenges, problems with sleep, friendship issues, sensory difficulties, attention and concentration difficulties, and hyperactivity and impulsivity.

Our health and care professionals at the one stop shop will be from a range of partners including South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), London Borough of Sutton, Sutton Carers Centre, Playwise and Sutton Information Advice and Support Service (SIASS). We will all be able to provide information, advice and signposting to families to help you. We will also be able to help you access services to support your needs.
