Dave Moore is running the London Marathon 2024 for the Trust Charity

In just under a month I will be taking part in my third Marathon, 10 years on from running the London Marathon for the first time, with the Yorkshire Marathon sandwiched in between in 2019 - and this time I will be doing it for our Trust charity.

My name is Dave. I work in the Communications Team at the Trust and I am also involved in relaunching our Trust Charity. The South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust Charitable Fund works in partnership with the Trust to invest in and promote projects that will make a tangible benefit to staff, service users and carers in south west London.

Our Charity exists to fund the people and projects striving to improve care, support recovery and prevent mental illness. We support initiatives that add value above and beyond the limits of what can be funded by the NHS and go the extra mile in improving people’s lives. Since I’ve been involved, I’ve been blown away by the generosity shown by the many people who have supported the Charity, as well as what can be achieved with the funds we have raised. The recently refurbished Kingston Memory Clinic is a great example of how the Charity has enhanced the experience of service users, visitors and staff alike.

In fact, I was so inspired, I too wanted to do something to raise some money for the Charity which is why I will be running this year’s London Marathon. On behalf of myself and the Charity, I would be extremely grateful for any contributions via my sponsorship link.

From African djembe drums for music therapy to artworks in our new facilities and wellbeing rooms for our busy staff to take a break – your donations truly make a difference and help us to Make Life Better Together.
