New multilingual videos promote NHS 111 mental health support

Videos explaining mental health crisis support are now available in commonly spoken languages in south west London, making it easier to access the care you need.

Starring Shikainah Champion, a Psychological Therapist at Sutton Talking Therapies, the videos explain in English, Tamil, Urdu and Hindi how to access urgent mental health support by calling NHS 111 and selecting the mental health option.

At our Trust we want to make it easier for everyone to get the mental health advice and information they need, and to reduce enduring stigma that stops people from seeking help. By filming the videos in common south west London languages, we aim to reach more communities across our five boroughs and ensure that more people know who to turn to when they or someone they know is experiencing a mental health crisis.

Planned changes to urgent support

One 1 October 2026, our current 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Line number (0800 028 8000) will transition to NHS 111.

You'll still reach local crisis support teams - the difference is that NHS 111 provides a single, simple and nationally recognised number, making it easier and quicker to access urgent mental health support.

Anyone, of any age, experiencing a mental health crisis, or worried about a friend, family member or someone they support, should call NHS 111 and select the mental health option after this date.
