We are thrilled to introduce our amazing 2025 fundraisers, who are taking on incredible challenges to support our Trust’s Charity.
From the London Marathon and Brighton Marathon to the Thames Turbo Triathlon, these dedicated individuals are going the extra mile to raise vital funds to support our Trust Charity, which exists to provide incredible initiatives that the NHS cannot fund, such as equine therapy for patients, staff wellbeing hubs or Mental Health First Aid training for our local communities.
Hear their inspiring stories below, and find out how you can support them on their journey and donate to their cause:
Emily Downey, Better Communities Programme Delivery Manager, Co-chair of the Women’s Network
Event: Thames Turbo Triathlon
Emily has dedicated nearly 10 years to South West London & St George's Mental Health NHS Trust and has seen firsthand the impact of its small, but ambitious volunteer-run Charity. Now, she's taking on a sprint triathlon to raise funds for vital projects that go beyond NHS funding, making a real difference for patients and staff.
Dave Moore, Head of Internal Communications and Community Engagement
Event: London Marathon
Dave is running his fourth marathon to raise funds for our Trust Charity, which supports vital projects such as Christmas gifts for patients, wellbeing spaces for staff, and important research trials. Through his fundraising efforts, Dave aims to “Make Life Better Together” by contributing to these essential initiatives. His dedication to the cause is truly inspiring. After encountering some challenges during last year's London Marathon (his knee wasn’t quite cooperating!), Dave is excited for a smoother run this year and hopes you’ll join him in cheering on all the incredible fundraisers supporting this important cause.
Juliet Armstrong, NED (Non-Executive Director) Trust Board
Event: Brighton Marathon
Juliet is running a full marathon to raise funds for the Charity at South West London and St. George’s Mental Health NHS Trust, where she serves as a NED. The Charity provides essential items for patients and staff, including gifts, artwork, and Mental Health First Aid training for local communities.
Joe & Katrina Frost, Team Manager, Richmond SPA
Event: Brighton Marathon
Joe and Katrina are lacing up their running shoes to take on the Brighton Marathon in support of the Trust’s Charity. As someone deeply passionate about mental health, Joe is excited to contribute to this cause. This will be Joe’s third marathon, while it’s Katrina's first, so let’s wish them both luck! Every donation will go towards funding important projects, benefiting both patients and staff.
