Modern slavery commitment

We recognise that modern slavery can have significant consequences on the mental and physical health of victims and is therefore a cause of health inequalities in society.  We are committed to ensuring that our employees are aware of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and their safeguarding duty to protect and prevent any further harm and abuse when it is identified or suspected that an individual may be or is at risk of modern slavery/human trafficking.

We are committed to ensuring that no modern slavery or human trafficking takes place with our knowledge in any part of our business or our supply chain.

NHS England has issued a group Modern Slavery Statement to support the Modern Slavery Act 2015 which can be found at:

NHS England » NHS Modern Slavery Annual Statement 2024/25

The Trust seeks to ensure its commitment to the eradication of modern slavery by:

  • Working with partners such as SW London Integrated Care Board, NHS Supply Chain, Crown Commercial Service, NHS London Procurement Partnership, London University Purchasing Consortium, Electronics Watch and other local NHS Trusts where we can collectively make a difference.
  • The Trust uses its internal policies and procedures in relation to the potential for modern slavery or human trafficking. This includes Safeguarding Adults at Risk and the Procurement Policy.
Raising awareness among staff through safeguarding training and ensuring there are safe spaces to report any concerns staff may have.
  • Where applicable we always seek to use NHS Terms and Conditions for the Supply of Goods and Services which requires suppliers to ensure there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in its supply chain and to report to us any suspected instances should such arise.
  • Ensuring that all Trust tendering activity includes a minimum of 10% criteria for evaluation which is allotted to social value.
