Welcome to Choices College
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Choices College, who join our Trust this week.
Choices College provides personalised education and supported internships for young people aged 16-24 with learning difficulties, disabilities and/or autism. Through education, employment opportunities and practical workplace experience, the college helps learners build confidence, develop skills and progress towards greater independence and meaningful employment.
The Trust was selected as the college’s new host organisation following a strategic review which identified the importance of hosting the college within an organisation able to support its long-term development and sustainability. The appointment reflects the strong alignment between the college’s mission and the Trust’s commitment to widening opportunities, reducing stigma and improving outcomes for young people and communities.
For many years, Choices College has made a meaningful difference to the lives of hundreds of young people, supporting them to learn, grow and flourish while developing the foundations for adult life and employment. The college has continued to grow while maintaining high-quality provision, reflected in its good Ofsted rating and positive feedback from partners and stakeholders.
The arrival of Choices College marks an exciting milestone for the Trust and for our wider work supporting education, wellbeing and employment opportunities. It builds on our existing programmes, including the Recovery College, specialist services for young people, and initiatives that support people to develop skills, confidence and pathways into work.
Over the past six months, colleagues from Choices College, NHS England and teams across the Trust have worked hard to support a smooth transition. We'd like to thank everyone involved for their dedication, collaboration and commitment to ensuring the college continues to thrive and continue delivering excellent support for students.
Above all, we are delighted to welcome our new colleagues and students from Choices College to our Trust. We are excited to bring together teams with a shared passion for reducing stigma, building confidence and creating opportunities for young people. We look forward to working together to build on the college’s success and continue helping young people to thrive, achieve their potential and move forward positively into employment and adulthood.
