Incident at Springfield Hospital

We are currently responding to an incident involving three patients who absconded from Springfield Hospital on Friday 19 July at approximately 10pm.

While two of the patients have been found, Adil Maxamed, 20, who is a patient under the Mental Health Act, is still missing and the Metropolitan Police continue to search for him.

The safety of our patients, staff and community is our priority and we are working with the police to ensure the safe return of Mr Maxamed. We would encourage anyone who has seen Mr Maxamed to call 101 and quote the reference 8713/19jul.

Members of the public are also asked to call 999 immediately if they see Mr Maxamed.

If you live in any of the five of our London boroughs: Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth and you need mental health support in a crisis you can call our 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Line on 0800 028 8000. More information about urgent support is available on our website here: Urgent Help - Website (swlstg.nhs.uk)

We will be holding an internal investigation and providing all necessary support to staff and patients following this incident.
