The first part of Springfield Park was formally opened on 10 October – World Mental Health Day – as Fircroft Primary School visited Springfield Village.

South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust has today announced the launch of a free new mental health training programme for local residents.

London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) boundaries have extended from today.

In August we were delighted to host our first Black Minds Matter Summer School in the new Trinity building at Springfield Hospital. A group of 40 young people spent time learning about our services and the work we do, before putting our staff to the test in a speed networking session!

We are delighted that the Trust’s preceptorship programme has been shortlisted in the Preceptorship Programme of the Year category in the 2023 Nursing Times Workforce Awards.

We are carrying out a survey to find out about the experiences of people who use our community mental health services. Hosted annually by the Care Quality Commission, the NHS Community Mental Health Survey is carried out by all NHS mental health trusts across the country.

Almost 2,000 members of staff, patients, carers and members of the local community came together to celebrate at our Making Life Better Together Summer Street Parties in July. The Making Life Better Together Programme is a Trust initiative aiming to increase engagement with and improve the experience of mental health care for patients, staff and the community.

As the new Springfield Village continues to open up to the community, pedestrian access on the western side of the site will be changing from Wednesday 9 August. 

The Bishop of Kingston, Revd Canon Dr Martin Gainsborough visited Springfield Village on Tuesday 25 July to see our new facilities, meet with staff and visit the multi-faith room as part of a multi-faith ceremony.

Mira Lemke has been named as the next recipient of the Trust’s Exceptional People Award, having been selected as the June 2023 winner.

This autumn the Trust will run a Clinical Effectiveness & Quality Summit to showcase some of the very best of our clinical effectiveness and related work over the past year.

We were delighted to welcome Year 5 and 6 pupils from Fircroft Primary School to Springfield Village on Thursday.

Springfield Village was declared officially open at a street party hosted by South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust on Wednesday 5 July. Hundreds of staff, patients, service users and members of the local community came together to celebrate at the annual street party event, which was made even more special this year by coinciding with the launch of Springfield Village and the NHS’s 75th birthday.

The portraits of 75 staff from across South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLSTG) are going on display as part of the Trust’s celebrations for the NHS’ 75^th birthday on Wednesday 5 July.
