We are delighted to congratulate Harriet Rice and the National Deaf CAMHS Outpatients Team, who have been named the winners of the Claire Campbell Outstanding Achievement Award.

This award recognises the team’s exceptional commitment to delivering specialist, culturally affirming care for deaf children, young people and their families. Their dedication to accessible, inclusive support rooted in deaf culture and the use of British Sign Language continues to make a meaningful difference every day.

Reflecting on their achievement, the team shared:

“The National Deaf CAMHS London Outpatients Team is filled with a sense of great pride, immense accomplishment and humble satisfaction upon receiving the Claire Campbell Outstanding Achievement Award. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, including Harriet Rice, who tirelessly champion the potential of deaf children and young people.

In line with our core values, we see this award as a victory for the pro-deaf philosophy we embody. We proudly stand for an approach that celebrates deaf culture and identity, ensures full access through British Sign Language (BSL), and empowers every young person to flourish on terms that hold individual and communal wellbeing in optimal balance. Our commitment remains firm: to provide culturally affirmative care that respects the whole person, their language, and their community.”

We extend our warmest congratulations to Harriet and the team on this well-deserved recognition and thank them for their continuing dedication to improving the lives of deaf children and young people!
