Join us at the Trust's and SWL ICB suicide prevention conference on 11 September 2024

The South-West London Integrated Care Board suicide prevention programme and South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust have joined forces in hosting this year’s suicide prevention conference - a yearly commitment within our own Suicide Prevention Strategy.

Join us as we learn from local and national experts and celebrate good practise within our boroughs on suicide prevention. We aim to smash the stigma around suicide: everyone has a part to play!

The conference will be held in person at the Everyday Church, 30 Queens Road, London SW19 8LR on Wednesday 11 September 2024 from 9.30am – 4.30pm. Light refreshments will be provided. Some speakers will join remotely, and we aim to produce videos of moderated parts of the conference after the event, but the only way to take part is to come in person – so please come!

The event will include:

  • Celebrating our progress from the last conference
  • An update on national and local suicide prevention strategies
  • A workshop on mental health crisis pathways
  • A new focus on certain at-risk groups, such as people who gamble online
  • Service users’ and families’ experiences
  • ‘Contagion’ and clusters of suicide attempts – a case study and discussion
  • The needs of neurodivergent people
  • A ‘marketplace’ showcasing the work of voluntary, NHS, local authority and charitable services across south-west London
  • Question and answer sessions
  • The opportunity to hold services and leaders to account for suicide prevention work

Anyone who lives or works in south-west London and has an interest in, or lived experience of, suicide and suicide prevention is encouraged to attend.
