Celebrating our latest Exceptional People Award winner: Solomon Gyasi

Solomon Gyasi has been named as the next recipient of the Trust’s Exceptional People Award, having been selected as the February 2026 winner.

Solomon works as the Deputy Ward Manager on Ward 2 and joined the Trust in 2020 as a Bank Healthcare Assistant, before progressing to a Registered Mental Health Nurse role and finally into the position he finds himself today.

His colleague said: “Solomon keeps the ward grounded, even during difficult shifts and staff naturally gravitate towards him because they know he will listen, stay calm, and respond fairly.

“He is exceptional not because he seeks recognition, but because he quietly lives the values and lifts others with him.”

Solomon was honoured to be named as the winner of the February 2026 award. He said: “My favourite thing about working at the Trust is the opportunity to support our service users through their recovery as well as the supportive environment provided by my colleagues.

“It also feels incredibly rewarding to be recognised for my work. I am passionate about representing what the Trust stands for, and this award is a lovely validation of those efforts.”

Solomon will receive a certificate, a gift, and our thanks for his valued service to the Trust and patients.

Every month we recognise and reward a staff member that has made a real difference to the Trust, our people and our patients. Nominations are welcome from all teams.
