An update on the opening of the Richmond Royal Wellbeing Centre

Map showing Trust facilities in Richmond

New outpatient facilities are on the way in Richmond! Richmond Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) will soon move from their temporary base at Livingston House in Teddington into a new facility called the Richmond Royal Wellbeing Centre.

Based at the site of the former Richmond Royal Hospital, where Richmond CAMHS was previously based, services will return to what is now a new Wellbeing Centre in the coming months.

In recent years the Trust’s facility here has undergone a £2m refurbishment programme in order to provide a bright and welcoming environment for younger patients and their families.

Opening our new facility
The new facility had been scheduled to open to Richmond CAMHS in August 2025. However, our main contractor has advised us that additional time is needed to finalise the facility's refurbishment. We are working closely with our contractor to establish a new move date and will be sharing further updates as soon as possible.

Once the timing is confirmed, our team will be supporting young people, carers and their families through the transition. In the meantime, face-to-face appointments will continue to take place at Livingston House until further notice. For upcoming appointments, whether in person or over the phone, patients, families and carers are advised to refer to instructions provided in appointment letters as usual.

When the new facility opens, Richmond Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service’s new address will be:

Richmond CAMHS
Richmond Royal Wellbeing Centre
South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust
Evelyn Road
Richmond
TW9 2TF

Supporting our patients
We recognise that change can sometime be unsettling, and we will be working closely with all involved to facilitate a smooth transition, ensuring there is no interruption in local services.

Details of the changes are being shared with all patients, carers and families under the team’s care and the location for new appointments (as above) will be clearly communicated through patient letters as appropriate.

How to find the new centre
The Richmond Royal Wellbeing Centre will be located between Richmond Park and Kew Gardens, and next to Richmond Athletic Ground.

Better Environments for Richmond
This exciting development is part of our Trust’s Better Communities and Better Environments Programmes as we work to transform our estate and create first class environments for our patients, carers and staff in South West London. This £280m programme of investment is supporting the redevelopment of our sites across Wandsworth, Kingston and Richmond and the creation of a number of state-of-the-art facilities in line with local consultations.
