The Lotus Assessment Suite is an innovative crisis service that offers in-depth assessments of people assessed by Street Triage, Home Treatment Teams or Liaison Psychiatry services as potentially requiring inpatient admission following initial community-based assessment.
The Lotus Assessment Suite is a nurse-led unit at Springfield Hospital. It provides a safe and stable, calming environment away from A&E for adults experiencing a mental health crisis.

About our care
You will be supported to identify a treatment plan and make appropriate arrangements for ongoing support in the community where feasible. The majority of people admitted to Lotus are discharged with care and support provided in the community – this might be provided by a GP, one of our community mental health teams or a voluntary organisation.
Who is this service for?
Referrals and access
You don't need to be referred to our services. While at Lotus, mental health staff will undertake detailed and informed assessments over a 36-hour period (for a maximum of 48 hours), which will inform a collaborative crisis care plan to support you throughout your mental health crisis.
