About our care
Burntwood Villas is a mixed-gender rehabilitation facility for people with severe, enduring, treatment resistant mental illness whose complex needs cannot be met by general adult mental health services and who require further care and treatment until they are well enough to go home, and/or receive ongoing treatment in the community.
Burntwood Villas is designed to be a step down service from high dependency rehabilitation wards, medium secure forensic services, low secure forensic services and acute services. The anticipated length of stay for patients is between 6 and 12 months.
Who is this service for?
Adults aged 18-75 with complex needs and challenging behaviours who are currently placed in locked rehabilitation units, out of area placements or forensic services. Patients have typically experienced repeated and long admissions to acute inpatient units.
Referrals and access
Referrals to Burntwood Villas are managed by the Trust's bed management team and sent to the ward's consultant and matron who will determine whether an admission is appropriate.
