Resident doctor strike – patient information

The British Medical Association (BMA) has announced that resident doctors will be participating in strike action from 7am on Friday 14 November until 7am on Wednesday 19 November.

Some of the resident doctors who work at our Trust will be taking part in the strike action. While we expect that most of our services will continue throughout the strikes, some clinics may be rescheduled.

Everyone who has an appointment should attend unless we have contacted you to reschedule. If we have not contacted you, please attend your appointment as planned.

The arrangements we have put in place to cover staff taking part in the industrial action may mean that your care is provided by someone different to who you would usually see.

Regardless of any strike action taking place, it is really important that you continue to come forward for care and support in the same way as usual.

If you live in Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton or Wandsworth and you need urgent support, call our Mental Health Crisis Line on 0800 028 8000. You can also get urgent mental health support by calling NHS 111 and pressing 2 for the mental health option. Both our Crisis Line and NHS 111 ‘Press 2 for mental health’ are available 24/7 and open to people who haven't previously accessed mental health services. You can call for yourself or someone else.

Please only use 999 or go to A&E if someone’s life is at risk - for example if they are experiencing a medical emergency, have seriously injured themselves or taken an overdose, or you do not feel you can keep yourself or someone else safe. For more information on when to call 999 and when to go to A&E, visit the NHS website.

More information on the strikes is available from the NHS website.
