Lorena Migdan wins NAHS award
NAHS is an award ceremony that highlights the fantastic work of security teams across the NHS, capturing the significant contributions and successes of our hardworking security staff members.
Lorena was one of 13 winners on the night, with the judges being incredibly impressed by the range of work that she does across the Trust. They particularly noted the fact that she has demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing women’s representation in healthcare security and under her guidance, the security team is now 33% female, promoting gender equality, ensuring a safer, more inclusive environment. Not only this, but they were impressed by the fact that Lorena advocates for inclusive hiring, ensuring women’s voices are heard in decision-making.
The judges also highlighted the fantastic work that Lorena does mentoring numerous women, helping them navigate career challenges, build confidence, and develop leadership skills.
Lorena was delighted to hear that she had won the award. She said:
I was excited when I found out that I was nominated for this award, and I have no words to express the pride and honour I felt in winning. After working on site for seven years, starting as a Security Officer and progressing to the role of Security Operations Manager, I can honestly say that it is an absolute joy working with SWLStG and providing exceptional service.
I would like to thank Marcus Hamilton-Holman, Head of Security & Local Security Management Specialist at the Trust, not just for the nomination, but also for the training, support, and his immense patience. But I would also like to recognise the Team I have helped and supported over these years. Thank you all.
