July’s Exceptional People Award goes to Melissa Chambers

Melissa Chambers has been named as the next recipient of the Trust’s Exceptional People Award, having been selected as the July 2024 winner.

Melissa, an Occupational Therapy Technician in our Shaftesbury Clinic, has been working at the Trust for 5 years – and has enjoyed every minute of it.

The Forensic Services team were full of praise for Melissa, saying: “Melissa is an invaluable support to the team. She runs one of the most successful aspects of our service, a thriving vocational project with co-production at its heart.

“In addition, if we need a volunteer for small talks within the team, she is first to take them up!”

Melissa was surprised and grateful to hear that she had won July’s award.

She said:

“One thing I love about working here is how caring and considerate my colleagues are. We work in an environment where risks are high, but everyone supports and teaches each other.

“At times, working in mental health can be challenging and is certainly not glamorous. But we all come to work to try and support our patients in whatever way we can.”

Melissa will receive a certificate, a gift, and our thanks for her valued service to the Trust and patients.
