Across South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust, you give so much of yourselves – not just your knowledge and skills, but your heart, your empathy and your time – to support some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.
I am continuously inspired by your dedication, resilience and the kindness you show to our patients, their families and each other. Whether you're working on the front line or behind the scenes – you are making a difference. You are the steady hands and calm voices that guide people through some of the hardest moments in their lives.
This year’s theme – “Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economies” – is a powerful reminder of the impact nursing has, not only on individual lives, but on society as a whole. Your work doesn’t just heal – it empowers, uplifts and brings hope. Service users on Crocus Ward created a special card to thank our incredible nursing teams. The 19-bed unit cares for older adults with complex mental health needs, and this thoughtful gesture reflects the deep appreciation our patients have for the compassionate care they receive every day.
