The training takes place in Springfield University Hospital, Trinity Building, Conference Room B on 18 November 2024 from 9-4pm.
What does MHFA Champions course involve?
The course won’t teach you to become a therapist but just like physical first aid, it will teach you the skills to listen, reassure and respond, even in times of crisis.

Testimonials:
‘The instructor was fantastic with a huge wealth of experience, great ability to listen to participants ideas and stories as well as a warm, calm authority. He gave people space where the wanted to share but skilfully managed to keep the course on track and to time in a kind and gentle way. It was a nice mix of people of different ages, experiences and backgrounds - very diverse and particularly enjoyed the fact almost all of us seemed to have lived experience of a mental health condition or mental health struggles.’
‘Thank you for an amazing course, it was excellent. Everyone should do this course, and I will be recommending it to everyone I know.’
‘Having just moved to the area, I am aware that I am likely to encounter vulnerable people and feel it’s important to learn more about mental health and ways to get support. This course has taught me to recognise mental ill health and help people find the support they need.’
