Daniel Page has been named the 2025 winner of the Trust’s Exceptional People Award.

Daniel, who currently works in the Acute and Urgent Care service, has been at the Trust since July 2024, previously working as an Occupational Therapist in the Community Service.

His nominator said: “Despite having no previous experience working with a deaf person, Dan approached his placement with a genuine openness and eagerness to learn. He asked thoughtful questions, actively listened to my needs, and responded with empathy and understanding.

“He also went above and beyond by learning basic British Sign Language, including fingerspelling and key signs, to support our communication.”

Daniel was delighted to hear that he had been selected as the winner of the August Exceptional People Award and spoke about what he enjoys most about working at SWLStG:

“One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of our service users. I am passionate about supporting patients in their recovery journeys and helping them achieve greater independence and well-being.

“I feel truly honoured and grateful to have been selected for the Exceptional People Award. It is incredibly meaningful to be recognised by my peers, especially within such a dedicated and compassionate workforce.”

Daniel will receive a certificate, a gift, and our thanks for his valued service to the Trust and patients.

Every month we recognise and reward a staff member that has made a real difference to the Trust, our people and our patients. Nominations are welcome from all teams.
