Today, on International Volunteers Day, we’re recognising the amazing difference our volunteers make across our Trust. We’re grateful to everyone, staff, service users, carers, families and friends, who generously share their time, skills, and energy to support our work and help us deliver compassionate, high-quality care.
Involvement Volunteer Co-ordinator Gray Nolan shares:
"Our volunteers play a vital role in shaping and improving our services. Their insight, kindness and commitment help us stay connected to what matters most for our communities. We are incredibly grateful for everything they bring to the Trust."
Sarah, who supports our Communications and Charity teams, reflected on her experience :
"Being part of the Charity relaunch was rewarding and a great opportunity to use my creativity. Volunteering has helped me gain new skills and confidence and has brought purpose and direction to my life. Most volunteers gravitate to volunteering on the wards and working directly with patients, but an admin role is just as fulfilling and important. For me, volunteering has given meaning to my life and a renewed sense of purpose, which is ultimately priceless.”
Louise, Volunteer Peer Involvement Facilitator, shared what volunteering means to her:
"Volunteering gives me purpose and allows me to contribute to improving services for patients, carers and staff. It’s a space where I feel heard and where my experiences can help make a difference."
To all our volunteers, thank you! Your time, compassion and commitment make a real and lasting difference. Today, and every day, we celebrate you and the positive impact you have on our Trust, our patients, and our communities!
