Michael Benjamin, who works as a Home in Reach Assessor in the Community Interface Team, has been named as the latest 2025 Exceptional People Award winner.
Michael joined the Trust three years ago and is described as someone who makes a lasting impact wherever he works. His colleagues said: “Michael has a compassionate, proactive approach, and his actions consistently go beyond expectations.
“He doesn’t hesitate to step in when something needs to be done, even when it falls outside his official responsibilities. His actions speak louder than words, and he has already built strong trust with colleagues and patients.”
Michael was delighted to hear that he had won the award and spoke about his highlights of working at the Trust, saying: “My favourite part of my role is being able to support our patients through the discharge process. A key aspect involves visiting patients’ homes to ensure their living environment is safe and suitable for their return.
“This recognition has reminded me of the positive impact of the work I do, whether it’s liaising with contractors or even assembling a bed for a patient. Seeing a patient’s reaction when their home is finally back to a safe, liveable state is incredibly rewarding.”
Michael will receive a certificate, a gift, and our thanks for his valued service to the Trust and patients.
Every month we recognise and reward a staff member that has made a real difference to the Trust, our people and our patients. Nominations are welcome from all.
