About our care

The service provides specialist support for patients, their families and local community mental health teams by ensuring that assessment and treatment options are approriate and meet individual cultural and lingusitic needs.

Who is this service for?

This service is for deaf adults aged 18+ who have mental health problems. The service also supports deaf/blind people and those with learning disabilities.

Referrals and access

We only accept referrals from community mental health teams or community learning disability teams, home treatment teams, early intervention teams and other secondary care services.

Other professionals (including GPs, social workers and carers) and prospective service users are encouraged to contact the service's helpine on for general advice on how to get help. The helpline is staffed by an experienced clinician from Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm, excluding bank holidays.
