We are excited to announce that the Springfield Spark Community Fund has awarded over £25,000 in funding to seven Wandsworth community organisations to run creative and inclusive community activities in Springfield Park this summer.
Originally announced at the opening of the park by the Mayor of London, the fund was set up by the partners of Springfield Village to help local groups bring the park to life through community‑driven projects that promote wellbeing, connection and nature.
Over the coming months, seven local organisations that reflect the diverse communities of Wandsworth will deliver a wide range of events at Springfield Park, including a family festival, guided walks, sports sessions, and arts and culture activities. Together, they will help create a vibrant and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.
Commenting on the funding awards, Ian Garlington Director of Better Communities said: “As an anchor institution, our Trust is proud to work alongside the Springfield Village partners to support local communities to thrive. Springfield Spark is a great example of how this partnership is turning shared ambition into action — helping to bring local people’s ideas to life and creating a park that is welcoming, inclusive and open to everyone. Through this fund, we’re supporting projects that bring people together, celebrate the diversity of Wandsworth and promote positive health and wellbeing, and we’re really looking forward to seeing Springfield Park come alive this summer.”
Harriet Gladwell-Phillips, Project Lead for Springfield Master Developer STEP (a joint venture between Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures and Kajima Partnerships) said: “Springfield Spark is testament to our collective commitment to making a genuine community impact at Springfield Village. Right from the outset of the construction phase and now into daily life in the park, the Trust and the development partners have consistently focused on the wider wellbeing and opportunity our project can generate and not just on the new bricks and mortar. With these fantastic local groups supported to provide a real range of activities, there’s something to enrich everyone’s experience of Springfield Park over the coming months.”

This fund is made possible through Springfield Village, a partnership between our Trust, Barratt London, London Square and City & Country, supported by master developer STEP. The fund was open to constituted community groups, charities and social enterprises in the London Borough of Wandsworth, with a focus on Tooting, Earlsfield and Balham.
We would also like to thank the Springfield Village Steering Group for supporting Springfield Spark Community Fund, including being part of the shortlisting and selection process for the fund.
