South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust has appointed Medirest to undertake cleaning and catering services across our inpatient and community sites.
Medirest, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, will support our organisation to provide the best possible experience and care to the communities of South West London From May 2025.
Their team will work alongside our clinical and corporate teams to ensure our hospital environments continue to be clean and safe. They will also provide and serve the food and drinks we provide our patients, service users, carers, families and staff, as well as our local community who also enjoy our cafes.
Colleagues will transfer from the Trust’s current provider of cleaning and catering services to Medirest, continuing valuable relationships built with Trust staff, patients, service users, carers and families.
We are excited to embed technology and innovation as a key part of service delivery as well as targeted social value initiatives further embedding the Trust’s role as an ‘Anchor’ institution.
Better Communities Programme Director Ian Garlington said:
We deeply value our colleagues who are vital in delivering these key services for the Trust, and are looking forward to establishing a partnership with Medirest, supporting us to keep our patients, service users, carers and families at the heart of everything we do.
“We have worked together to create great services that will improve the experience of people across our Trust and support the delivery of high-quality patient care for our South West London communities.
“I’d like to wholeheartedly thank Sodexo, who have provided our cleaning and catering services for the last seven years, for all their hard work and dedication during their time with us.”
