Marking Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day

South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust comes together with the nation to mark Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day to honour all those who have served, sacrificed, and endured through times of conflict.

On Armistice Day on Monday November 11 2024, we will observe a two-minute silence at 11am. This moment allows us to pause and reflect, honouring the bravery and resilience of those affected by war, both past and present. It’s a time for us to show our gratitude, to remember lives lost, and to renew our commitment to fostering peace, well-being, and unity within our communities.

These days are particularly significant this year as we reflect on the importance of peace in light of current global challenges. Remembrance brings us together across faiths, cultures, and backgrounds to honour the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community from Britain and the Commonwealth.

As a Trust, we are dedicated to supporting our Armed Forces community. Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant and our Veteran Aware accreditation reflects our promise to treat veterans and their families with dignity, respect, and the care they deserve.

Let us unite in remembrance, showing respect and gratitude for those who have given so much.
